Manuscript Title: A constructive REDUCE package based upon the Painleve analysis of nonlinear evolution equations in Hamiltonian and/or normal form.
Authors: F. Renner
Program title: PTEST.RED
Catalogue identifier: ACHP_v1_0
Distribution format: gz
Journal reference: Comput. Phys. Commun. 70(1992)409
Programming language: Reduce.
Computer: AT 386.
Operating system: MS-DOS 3.3.
RAM: 4000K words
Keywords: Painleve test, Nonlinear evolution Equations, Normal form, Hamiltonian form, Reduce.
Classification: 5.

Nature of problem:
To find physically good natured nonlinear evolution equations passing the Painleve test and exhibiting e.g. soliton solutions, Baecklund transformations, an infinite number of conserved densities and/or symmetries.

The available computer storage is the severest restriction.

Running time:
It depends on the degree of homogeneity and the highest resonance of the equation class under consideration. It cannot be estimated in advance. (The test run took not more than 5 minutes.)
