Manuscript Title: DCS: a program for calculating differential cross sections for the electronic excitation of diatomic molecules at fixed nuclei.
Authors: L. Malegat
Program title: DCS
Catalogue identifier: ABTG_v1_0
Distribution format: gz
Journal reference: Comput. Phys. Commun. 60(1990)391
Programming language: Fortran.
Computer: IBM 3090.
Operating system: MVS.
RAM: 3000K words
Word size: 8
Peripherals: disc.
Keywords: Differential cross Sections, Electron-molecule, Diatomic, Molecule, Momentum transfer, Scattering.
Classification: 16.5.

Nature of problem:
DCS computes differential cross sections for the electron-impact electronic excitation of diatomic molecules from the corresponding fixed nuclei T matrices.

Solution method:
The momentum transfer formalism is used to derive a convenient expression of the differential cross section.

Unusual features:

Running time:
The running time depends mostly on the number of channels included. The total time for the test run is 3.39s of which only 0.64s for the execution step.
