Nature of problem:This problem is designed to estimate the propagation of errors and to simulate simple stochastic processes. | ||

Solution method:The program generates the distribution associated with a function of several random variables which is coded by the user. The distributions followed by the random variables are specified either by an analytical formula or numerically. The variables are generated by a Monte-Carlo method. | ||

Restrictions:The random variables must be uncorrelated. | ||

Running time:The high-energy physics problem given as the second test run takes about 5.6 s CP time on CDC 6600 for 5000 events generated. In fact, the running time depends primarily on the number of random variables and the complexity of the function coded by the user. | ||
